Author: R.J Palacio

A movie version of the book recently came out, and I was ecstatic to watch it. My Dad bought me this book ages ago, and it’s amazing to see it turn into such a well-made movie. Anywhoooo, we’re here to talk about the book, so I’m going to shut up about the movie now.
Wonder is about a fifth grader called August Pullman a.k.a Auggie. He’s had more surgeries than most people have in a lifetime. But he’s pretty used to his face by now. However, new problems arise when it’s time for Auggie to start middle school. He’s been home-schooled his whole life and now he has to go to a school with other kids! This brilliant book tells the tale of Auggie Pullman’s life and the different perspectives of those around him.

“When given the choice between reading Wonder or reading Wonder, choose either because they’re basically the same thing.”

I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse. August (Auggie) Pullman was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to a mainstream school—until now. He's about to start 5th grade at Beecher Prep, and if you've ever been the new kid then you know how hard that can be. The thing is Auggie's just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. But can he convince his new classmates that he's just like them, despite appearances?
